13 - 28 October, Book of Deer Exhibition
The Book of Deer Project is mounting an exhibition at Aberdeenshire Farming Museum Mintlaw, about the 10-year search for the monastery of Deer and the exciting early medieval radiocarbon date of 669-777AD for an excavated wooden building. The exhibition will feature finds from the digs including the Hnefatafl game board found this year. Details

Concert by the Maxwell Quartet - 7.30 pm
This is an unmissable opportunity to hear one of the finest string quartets in the UK. Internationally
recognised as exceptionally gifted musical communicators, this 'Home grown' group of young men have
been entrancing audiences on a global scale. This is your chance to hear them, it's very informal, not
high brow stuff, and if you've not come to one of our concerts you will be blown away.

5 November for 2 weeks Archaeology in Aden
Bronze Age site dig commences (field up by Hareshowe). We need volunteers for all sorts of things,
please come along for as little or as long as you want, see what you want to get involved in (no
previous experience needed - just come in working clothes, no high heels!)
